Location
The island of Pantelleria, which belongs to the province of Trapani, is located about 85 km from Sicily and about 70 km from Africa. It is a volcanic origin island, in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea, whose position has always been strategically important throughout its history. The Santa Teresa Resort is placed in a unique setting that in just 83 square km features beautiful mountains, volcanic and coastal scenery. The island is reachable from the port of Trapani, or by scheduled and charter flights that connect the major airports of Italy. Santa Teresa Resort is approximately 8 Km from Pantelleria and 10 km from its centre.
Hotel
The Resort is located within the farm Santa Teresa, which is spread over an area of approximately 40 hectares of olive groves, vineyards and capers, surrounded by Mediterranean scrub. The Resort Santa Teresa was born from the restoration of ancient “Dammusi”, stone buildings typical of the island dating back to the Phoenician, modified over the centuries until today.
Rooms
From 4 groups of Dammusi were obtained 18 units, divided into different nucleus and distinguished into three types: Classic, Comfort and Superior. All rooms have been designed by local architects and have high vaulted ceilings, white walls and neutral colours furniture, very elegant in their simplicity. The hotel has preferred that all rooms had no TV, and those of the Monastero without phone.
The Classic Dammusi can be found inside the Sibà and inside the Monastero. A door window is on the common terrace; the Dammusi with more rooms are characterized by an "open space" without doors. The Dammusi Comfort can be found in the Sibà and in the nucleus of Fra Diavolo. Some of them have a veranda covered with a roof of reeds.
The Superior Dammusi are characterized by wide open spaces and the very reserved position.
Restaurant
Santa Teresa Resort offers a rich breakfast every morning at the Giardino Arabo, where guests can taste different typical specialities of Sicilian tradition. The Giardino is also the ideal place for an aperitif to enjoy the sunset. The Resort doesn’t have its own restaurant, but staff will advise you on the best places to taste the specialties of fresh seafood and dishes inspired by the Arabic, such as cakes and cous cous.
