Opening Period : Donna Carmela

Location
Placed between the volcano Etna and the Ionian sea, the boutique hotel Donna Carmela is in Carruba di Riposto, the ideal position to reach many sites of cultural, naturalistic and touristic interest of the area. In the vicinity there are some of the most renowned beaches of the region but it will also be possible to easily reach the towns of Catania, Taormina, Siracusa, Acireale, Piazza Armerina and, of course, organise visits and trekking to Mount Etna. The distance from the sea is 2 Km. The nearest airport is Catania-Fontanarossa at 43 km (30 / 40 minutes by car). 

Hotel
Donna Carmela is a Sicilian residence of the 19th century, enchanted and charming place for a holiday dedicated to relaxation and the pleasures of the cuisine and the God Bacchus. In fact, Donna Carmela, besides being embedded in a luxuriant nursery of 500 hectares rich in Mediterranean and sub tropical plants it is also a winery located in the northern side of the volcano, at a few km from the hotel site.

Rooms
The 18 rooms of Hotel Donna Carmela are all different from each other in size and furniture and are spread in two buildings. In addition to the rooms, the hotel disposes of a dependence with garden and small pool with Jacuzzi. The interiors are refined with high quality materials and the decoration has been carefully made paying attention to the tiniest detail, combining the modern comfort with the ancient style of the building. All the rooms dispose of air conditioning, mini bar and satellite TV.
The 5 double “superior” rooms are composed of a double bed (possibility to have twin beds) and a bathroom. They are all different in furniture and design accessories.
Each of the nine “junior suites” is furnished in a peculiar way, with the use of different colours nad overlook the sea or the garden. They are composed of a bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom and a living corner with a sofa. The four Etna junior suites are spread in two levels: on the first floor we have the living room with a sofa and a bathroom and on the second floor the bedroom with a double bed and another bathroom. The two areas are separated by the stairs. These 4 rooms may host, on request, two additional beds.
For those who wish to be more comfortable in a larger room, the suite is the room we would advise to chose. These 3 rooms have a terrace from where it is possible to enjoy nice views, are furnished with antiques and distinguish themselves from the others thanks to the refined details. The suites have been carefully studied either in the bedroom and in the relaxing area provided with big sofas. Some Suite sea view may host, on request, two additional beds.
The Dependence, the only one of this typology, is immersed in the nursery of Donna Carmela. It is composed of a bedroom with a double bed, kitchen, living room, bathroom and private terrace. In the garden the guests have the possibility to relax in the small private pool with Jacuzzi admiring, in the background, the marvellous blue of the Sicilian sea. This accommodation is perfect for families, being able to host up to 5 people.

Restaurant
The restaurant of the hotel, also open to the non resident guests (with reservation), is the ideal place where you can experience the typical tastes of Sicilian gastronomic tradition. The dishes, skilfully prepared with fresh home products, are accompanied by wonderful international and local wines including the wine producted in the Donna Carmela winery. Among these wines we would like to suggest the excellent Pietradolce Etna Doc.

Services & Activities
Donna Carmela disposes of a large internal parking place, laundry, reading room, AC, pool and solarium. On request it is possible to organise wine tasting of the wines of the Etna area, visits of the winery, botanical visits, excursions to Mount Etna and to the most important cultural sites, motor yachting excursions, fishing, massages and beauty treatments.
